Welcome from the Mercy Health Foundation CEO

Welcome to the Spring edition of the Mercy Health Foundation newsletter for 2023.

It is with profound enthusiasm that I step into the new role of CEO of Mercy Health Foundation. I am excited by the opportunity to join an organisation committed to enhancing the lives of those in need through exceptional healthcare, aged care, palliative and community care.

In my first weeks at Mercy Health Foundation, I have spoken with many people across Mercy Health, from executive leaders, nurses, residential aged care staff and pastoral carers who all say the same thing – the Mercy Health values of compassion, hospitality, respect, innovation, stewardship and teamwork underpin what all staff do daily in their commitment to making a difference to the lives of those we care for.

I am proud to be working for an organisation that truly lives and breathes its values and to connect donors with the causes you care most about, ranging from stillbirth research to healthy ageing.

And so, I want to use my first official message as CEO to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you, our generous donors – you are all an essential part of Mercy Health.

You have steadfastly stood by Mercy Health in these challenging financial times. Your support and generosity have been the cornerstone of our success, allowing Mercy Health to continue providing vital medical services to countless individuals and families across the communities we serve.

As the world continues to evolve, the importance of accessible and high-quality public healthcare has never been more important. Your contributions have not only transformed the lives of the individuals directly touched by Mercy Health, but have also radiated hope throughout the community, inspiring positive change and resilience in the face of adversity.

I am truly excited to be part of a team that strives to improve the lives of every person we serve, and I look forward to building upon the remarkable achievements of the Foundation. Together, we can forge new paths and create an even more profound impact on the lives of those we care for.

Once again, I express my appreciation to you, our incredible donors – you play a pivotal role in sustaining Mercy Health’s mission to provide care to those in need. Your compassion and dedication light the way for a healthier, stronger and more compassionate world.

I also encourage you to attend our charity Golf Day on Tuesday 17 October at Kingston Heath Golf Club where you can compete against me on the green and help us to raise funds to support Mercy Perinatal’s life-saving research! More information about how you can get involved can be found on our event page, or you can click here to secure your spot.

I look forward to speaking with many of you in the near future. Please feel free to reach out to me to discuss how you can be a part of Mercy Health’s future. My contact details are rmacfarling@mercy.com.au and (03) 8416 7543.

Warm regards,
