Registered name and ABN

If you are drafting a Will for a client who wishes to leave a gift to Mercy Health Foundation, please ensure our registered name and ABN are included in the wording:

Suggested wording for a Will

1. Percentage – Choose this wording to leave your entire estate or a percentage of your estate to Mercy Health Foundation. This gives longevity to your Will because your gift will not be influenced by inflation or changes in the value of your estate.

I GIVE AND BEQUEATH *……… per cent of my estate to Mercy Health Foundation (ABN: 60 905 269 648) for its general purposes/or your selected purpose, AND I DECLARE that the receipt of an Executive Officer of Mercy Health Foundation at the time shall constitute a sufficient discharge to my executor/s and trustee/s.

2. Residue – The residue of your estate is what remains after you have taken care of your family, friends and any debts outstanding.

I GIVE AND BEQUEATH the rest and residue of my estate, both real and personal, to Mercy Health Foundation (ABN: 60 905 269 648) for its general purposes/or your selected purpose, AND I DECLARE that the receipt of an Executive Officer of Mercy Health Foundation at the time shall constitute a sufficient discharge to my executor/s and trustee/s.

3. A percentage of the residue – You may also choose to leave a percentage of the residue.

I GIVE AND BEQUEATH *……… per cent of the residue of my estate to Mercy Health Foundation (ABN: 60 905 269 648) for its general purposes/or your selected purpose, AND I DECLARE that the receipt of an Executive Officer of Mercy Health Foundation at the time shall constitute a sufficient discharge to my executor/s and trustee/s.

4. A specified sum – To specify a particular sum, use this wording.

I GIVE to Mercy Health Foundation (ABN: 60 905 269 648) the sum of $…………. for the purposes of, and use by, Mercy Health Foundation AND I DECLARE that the receipt of an Executive Officer of Mercy Health Foundation at the time shall constitute a sufficient discharge to my executor/s and trustee/s.

The symbol * indicates where you would enter either a dollar amount or a percentage of the total estate.

Administering an estate

If you are the executor or legal representative of an estate in which a gift has been left to Mercy Health Foundation, we would appreciate your assistance in the following ways:

1. Notify us of the gift, as soon as possible.
2. Please forward a copy of the Will and Grant of Probate to us.
3. Let us know about the reasons behind the gift. We would appreciate the opportunity to sincerely thank family and loved ones, and honour the person’s wishes and memory, as appropriate.
